2-Person Outdoor Saunas: Sizes, Heaters, Circuits and Prices Compared
We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it doesn't change what we list or how we describe it. How this works
A 2-person outdoor sauna is a small room, about 75 to 133 cubic feet inside by our arithmetic from the listed interiors, with a bench roughly 3 to 4 feet long, a heater that the makers below list at 6 kW for the traditional models, and its own 240-volt circuit. On November 1, 2026, seven of the eight models we checked showed regular prices from $4,485 to $13,995 (the $13,995 one was on sale for $10,950), before delivery, assembly and wiring. We haven’t tested any of them; every number comes from the maker’s or seller’s own page.
What a 2-person outdoor sauna looks like
Two people sitting side by side need about 4 feet of bench: Fixr says seating “should allow two feet for each person to sit comfortably or six feet if you want to recline.” The North American Sauna Society puts “a good size for an average two or three person sauna” at “from 4’ x 6’ to 5’ x 7’” and recommends a sauna 6 feet wide or more for lying down. All seven models below that list an interior are smaller than 4’ × 6’ in floor area (our arithmetic), and some listings hedge: Redwood Outdoors calls its Duo “Up to 2 People” and “Spacious For 1 Person.”
Eight models by size and price
Ordered by regular price, low to high, with any sale price beside it; base configurations, November 1, 2026 (Sweat Kingdom’s Black Friday sale “ENDS NOVEMBER 30!”). Prices change.
| Model | Shape | Interior (listing) | Interior volume | Heater as listed | Listed price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Almost Heaven Salem | Barrel | 75¼” W × 39¼” D × 69¼” H | about 97 cu. ft. (our arithmetic) | 6 kW, 240 V, 30-amp | $4,485 |
| Almost Heaven Vienna | Barrel with 1-foot canopy | Same as Salem | about 97 cu. ft. (our arithmetic) | 6 kW, 240 V, 30-amp | $5,184 |
| Redwood Outdoors Duo | Cube | 3’-9¾” W × 4’-7⅛” L × 6’-2¾” H | 109.1 cu. ft. (listed) | 6 kW Harvia KIP; 30 A breaker | $5,899 ($4,899 on sale); “Currently Out of Stock” |
| Sweat Kingdom Sweat Pod, Regular | Cube | 70⅜” H × 51” D × 47⅜” W | about 98 cu. ft. (our arithmetic) | Harvia KIP 6 kW standard | $6,795 ($6,045 on sale) |
| Almost Heaven Blackwater Mini-Cube | Cube | Not listed on the page we checked | — | 6 kW, 240 V, 30-amp | $8,397 |
| Sweat Kingdom Ridge | Cube, pitched roof | 56” W × 50” D × 82” H | about 133 cu. ft. (our arithmetic) | Harvia KIP 6 kW or Homecraft Revive Slim 6 kW in the heater selector; the spec section names the Homecraft | $8,895 ($7,145 on sale) |
| Peak Saunas Patagonia | Infrared cabin | 44” W × 38” D × 77” H | about 75 cu. ft. (our arithmetic) | 3,350 W infrared | “$13,995 list price” ($10,950 on sale) |
| Clearlight Sanctuary Outdoor 2 | Infrared cabin | 50½” W × 47” D × 71½” H | about 98 cu. ft. (our arithmetic) | 2,320 W infrared | Not listed; “Get Pricing” |
For box-shaped rooms, “our arithmetic” is length × width × height; for the barrels it’s a cylinder 75¼” across and 39¼” deep, minus the 6 inches below the floor (the listed height is 6” less than the width). The Sweat Pod’s size is sold as “Regular (2 Person)” but described in the spec section as “Regular 1–2 Person.”
The two infrared models heat with panels, not a stove and rocks, so their power figures aren’t comparable with the 6 kW heaters. Peak lists a price on its page; Clearlight gives one on request.
Bench sizes for two

| Model | Bench as listed |
|---|---|
| Almost Heaven Salem | 16” W × 39¼” L × 17” H |
| Redwood Outdoors Duo | Upper bench 1’-7¾” W × 3’-9¼” L × 2’-6” H, plus a 6¾”-wide lower step |
| Sweat Kingdom Sweat Pod | Upper bench 20¾” × 47⅜”; lower bench 10⅜” × 47⅜” |
| Clearlight Sanctuary Outdoor 2 | 48¼” W × 22” D × 20” H |
Against Fixr’s two feet per person, the Sweat Pod and Clearlight benches give two people about 2 feet each; the Duo’s 45¼” and the Salem’s 39¼” are shorter. Sweat Kingdom says two levels let you “choose your heat intensity by elevation”; more on heights in our sauna dimensions guide.
Heater size and circuit
Harvia’s rule of thumb is that “an average of 1 kW of heater power is required per cubic meter of sauna volume” (35.3 cubic feet), with more needed for glass. By that rule a 100-cubic-foot room needs about 3 kW before glass is counted (our arithmetic), yet the traditional models above all list 6 kW. Heater makers’ own tables show why to ask about it:
| Heater table | Room range for the smaller heater | Room range for 6 kW |
|---|---|---|
| SaunaFin Saunacraft (240 V) | 4 kW: 100–150 cu. ft. | 6 kW: 200–300 cu. ft. |
| HUUM DROP (EU manual) | DROP 4 (4.5 kW): 3–7 m³ (about 106–247 cu. ft.) | DROP 6 (6 kW): 5–9 m³ (about 177–318 cu. ft.) |
| Harvia Spirit SP60E (240 V) | — | 6 kW: “Room volume 5.01 - 8.33 m³” (about 177–294 cu. ft.) |
The Spirit is a Harvia 6 kW heater, not the KIP several of these saunas list, and the other two are other brands. Glass also counts: HUUM’s manual says to add 1 m³ of room volume for each square meter of uninsulated glass, brick or tile wall. Ask the seller which room-volume range in the included heater’s manual their sauna falls into. Our sauna calculator does the volume math.
The circuit follows the heater’s manual, not the sauna’s seat count:
| Heater (source) | Breaker or circuit as listed |
|---|---|
| Harvia 6.0 kW wall heater (Almost Heaven manual) | 30-amp double-pole breaker, 240 V, 1 phase |
| Harvia KIP 6 kW (Redwood Outdoors listing) | 30 A |
| Homecraft Revive 6 kW (Sweat Kingdom Sweat Pod listing) | 40 A dedicated breaker |
| Homecraft Revive Slim 6 kW (Sweat Kingdom Ridge spec section) | “requires a 40A breaker”; the selector also offers a Harvia KIP, so ask which heater ships and what breaker it needs |
| Saunacraft 6 kW (SaunaFin table) | 25 A draw, 40 A breaker (“recommendation only”) |
| Peak Patagonia infrared | 240 V / 20 A, “dedicated outdoor-rated circuit required” |
| Clearlight Sanctuary Outdoor 2 infrared | 240 V, 9.7 A; plugs into a 240 V outlet (NEMA 6-15P) |
The same 6 kW can mean a 30 A or a 40 A breaker. A licensed electrician confirms the circuit from the heater’s manual and pulls the permit; sauna electrical requirements explains what they’ll look at.
Barrel vs cube for two
The two Almost Heaven barrels cost least here: 39¼” deep inside, one 17”-high bench, 69¼” of height. The cubes are taller inside (70⅜” to 82”), and the Sweat Kingdom ones have two bench levels. The Vienna adds a canopy 14⅝” deep over the door with small outside benches.

Where a small sauna fits
Footprints from the listings: Peak Patagonia 52” × 42” (roof 63” × 53.2”), Redwood Duo 4’-2¾” × 5’-2¾”, Sweat Kingdom Ridge 59½” × 59¼”, Almost Heaven Salem 78” × 47”, Clearlight 73¾” × 67½” with its roof cap. Weight matters for the base and delivery: Redwood lists the Duo at 910 lbs, Peak the Patagonia at 798 lbs and Clearlight 765 lbs. Leave room to open the door outward and to walk around for staining. Safety and permits
A sauna heater needs its own circuit sized to the maker's manual — have a licensed electrician wire it and pull the permit. Wood-burning stoves need the clearances and chimney in the stove's manual and local code approval. Before digging for a foundation, call 811. This site doesn't give medical advice: if you're pregnant or have a health condition, ask your doctor before using a sauna.
